In this class, I will teach you how to start from the end and methodically work your way back to execute every shoot with gorgeous light that tells your client’s story while keeping true to your own photographic style.
I will change the way you think about lighting by walking you through the foundations of light quality and light modifiers, what they do, and how to use them to create killer light for an editorial feel that flatters even those who try to convince you they’re “not photogenic.” And what’s the point of a class if you can’t realistically implement the things you learned? I’ll show you how I approach lighting for every shoot no matter the client or their story, as well as quick tips and tricks that you can work into your shoots immediately.
Jen Bertrand is a portrait photographer who specializes in editorial, magazine-style imagery that speaks to the individual. She is known for her modern and edgy approach to photography, as well as adding her personal touch to the entire client experience. Jen also teaches studio lighting and other photography techniques to photographers through conferences, mentorships, and workshops, including her own studio lighting workshop called Enlighten. She is the go-to photographer for creative professionals, brands, and teens looking for original and fresh images that lean way from industry clichés. Jen is based in Dallas where she lives with her husband, two daughters, and their dog.
